Frequently Asked Questions
What is the purpose of the Webcomic Archive?
The Webcomic Archive maintains backup copies of hundreds of different online comics and graphic novels to prevent good stories from being lost to time.
There are so many comics! Where should I start?
Freefall and XKCD are highly recommended. For a directory of comics sorted by category, including many not present in the archive, please visit The Belfry WebComics Index.
Why are some pages out of order?
Comic pages are lexically sorted by filename. Some webcomics don't use ordered or consistent filenames for their pages; while renaming is generally automatic, bonus pages or refactors can cause strips to appear out of order.
Why are some comics unavailable?
Only comics with the Local badge can be viewed from the archive. The Webcomic Archive is intended to provide an "archive of last resort" for comics that are unavailable elsewhere; for comics that are still available on the internet, please support their creators by visiting their websites directly.
